National Conferences AATSP and ACTFL

I enjoyed seeing many of you at  the  AATSP Annual Meeting in San Diego in July.  Next year’s event will be held in Costa Rica – plan now to attend!

ACTFL’s publication “The Language Educator” announced in its August 2007 issue that the United Nations General Assembly has proclaimed 2008 as the “International Year of Languages.”  Let’s take advantage of this to promote the study of Spanish and Portuguese.

By the way, did you know that there are 6 official languages of the UN?

-  Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish

I hope to see many of you in San Antonio at the ACTFL Annual Convention and World Languages Expo November 16-18, 2007.
